Helpful Hints from American Seating 
SH3 believes in a comfortable work environment. A comfortable work
environment creates a more productive attitude. Follow these simple tips to help
prevent Repetitive Strain Injuries (RSI's) and other health conditions caused by improper
work habits.
- Warm Up.................Stretch your fingers, hands, wrists, arms,
legs, and neck before you begin working to loosen up and get your blood circulating.
- Relax.......................Relax your hands, arms, and neck to
promote blood circulation.
- Adjust Lighting.......To reduce glare on your computer screen.
- Adjust Monitor........Position your monitor directly in front of
you, tilted slightly downward, with the top of the screen at eye level.
- Sit Properly.............Back straight, head centered over
shoulders, feet flat on the floor, wrist and forearms parallel to the floor, upper arms
close to body, and thighs parallel to the floor.
- Refocus Eyes..........Look away from your computer screen at
regular intervals to refocus on a more distant object.
- Take Breaks...........Take short, 10-20 second breaks from
repetitive tasks.
